On the afternoon of October 13, 2017, the 29th World Friendship Conference, hosted by the Hong Kong Meizhou Federation, was grandly opened at the Kowloon Bay International Trade and Exhibition Center in Hong Kong.

Our association is led by President Fan Renda, who leads a delegation of 9 people including Vice President Zeng Fuhong, Vice President Lin Chunping, Vice President Li Guobin, Chief Financial Officer Peng Dingcai, Secretary General Zhang Jinkuan, Deputy Secretary General Liu Jianxin, Director He Qiaoyu, and Director Xu Guocheng to attend the guest friendly ceremony.

About 3000 Hakka villagers from 24 countries and regions including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Mexico, South Africa, Mauritius, Brunei, Cambodia, Vietnam, Seychelles, Myanmar, Suriname, as well as mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, gathered in Xiangjiang.
The opening ceremony of the 29th World Hakka Friendship Conference closely revolves around the theme of Hakka people's participation in the construction of the "the Belt and Road", carries forward the past into the future, and continues to promote China's connectivity and common development with the power of Hakka people.

As the organizer of the 29th Hakka World Expo, the Hong Kong Meizhou Federation has prepared a colorful event for everyone, including the multimedia performance of "Welcoming Hakka World Guests with Thousand Sails Together", the "Hakka Cup" horse race, the "Hakka Culture Forum", the "World Hakka Youth Summit", etc., to welcome "Hakka" people from all over the world, talk about their hometown, and taste the fragrant river together!

The 30th World Guest Family Friendship Conference will be held in Malaysia in 2019.
